FLCS boys and girls at performance at University of Montana theater

When FLCS students reach the upper grades, preparation is underway for them to be lifetime lovers of learning with intellectual curiosity. Equipped with faith, knowledge, and the ability to reason and think critically, at this stage students are learning to communicate clearly and eloquently.

Deeper concepts about the world are explored in a curriculum that integrates history, religion, and literature. STEM, language arts, fine arts, and deeper understanding and expression of faith are emphasized.

students studying formal logic

Have you ever noticed that it seems like logic is often missing in today’s world? Hmm…keep on reading.

Formal logic trains students to recognize truth from falsehood and to communicate more clearly. These aspects are emphasized:

  • Critical thinking skills
  • Learning the rules of clear thinking and reasoning
  • Ability to detect faulty reasoning
  • Clearer understanding of the universe God created—a cosmos of order, structure, and form
  • Ability to make compelling arguments in oral and written communication
  • Application of logic to real life situations
  • Enhanced decision-making skills, including analysis of potential consequences

Would you like your child to possess this reasoning tool throughout their lives?
